This Cancellation and Refund Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the cancellation, suspension, termination and surrender of Your Water Supply Service Connection.
Interpretation and Definitions
Interpretation
The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
Board (referred to as either "the Board", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to the Urban Water Supply Division of the Assam Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board, whose registered office is at Amritpur Path, Ganeshguri, Guwahati - 781 006, Assam, India.
Service refers to the Website.
Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Board. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Board to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Board, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Board in analyzing how the Service is used.
Website refers to the Assam Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board website, accessible at https://auwssb.in
You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the Board, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.
Cancellation
Cancellation of Application of New Water Supply Service Connection
Your application for a new water supply service connection is scrutinized and verified before approval or rejection by the Board. In case the application is not found to be valid upon scrutiny and verification, it is automatically cancelled.
The application can also be cancelled by You during this period by informing the Board through e-mail or by tracking your application through the website (https://auwssb.in).
Your application cannot be cancelled by You once it is approved by the Board
Note: Any Processing Fee / Registraion Fee paid by You during the time of application is non-refundable.
Suspension of Service
In Case of Non-payment of Dues
Water supply service for Your connection may be suspended if you fail to pay Your dues on time. Please refer to the Terms of Service for details.
On Your Request
If you want to stop availing the water supply connection Service for a period of time due to long absence from the place of supply, you can submit a request to the Board to temporarily suspend the Service and resume it when required again.
Since You are not availing the services, You are not charged for the period of suspension.
Note: All pending dues need to be cleared by You before suspension of service.
Termination of Service
In Case of Non-payment of Dues
Water supply service for Your connection may be terminated if you fail to pay Your dues after the grace period. Please refer to the Terms of Service for more details.
On Your Request
If You want to stop availing the water supply services permanently for any reason, you can do so by submitting a permanent disconnection request to the Board.
Note:In the event of termination of service, subsequent re-connection will require a charge to be paid by You, as detailed in Terms of Service.
Billing & Payment Discrepancies and Adjustments
In the event of unforeseen events like overbilling or underbilling by the Board and overpayment or underpayment by you, the Board will adjust the difference betweeen the billable / payable amount and the billed / paid amount by means of adjustment through debit and credit notes which will be reflected in the subsequent month's bill. Under no circumstances will the Board issue any refunds for billing and payment discrepancies through direct transaction by any means.
Refunds
The Board will issue refunds only in the event of termination of water supply service and if any amount is payable to you, after settling all dues on Your account.
